For nearly 8 years, we’ve devoured iconic, greasy sandwiches from nearly every fast food restaurant in the game. But rarely does McDonald’s—the fast food giant—come out with anything new whatsoever. They stick to what works. Don’t fuss with the recipe. Maintain the same path.
And you might even be saying to yourself, “Sean, is this thing really a new sandwich concept?”
And to you, I’d say: “No. You’re exactly right. It isn’t. But who doesn’t want an excuse to get another Big Mac for science purposes?” This was my workday.
Introducing the re-returning Double Big Mac at McDonald’s, with somehow only 780 calories. McDonald’s calls this monstrosity “bigger than the Big Mac®, and now saucier than ever before.” It boasts four all beef patties, finely diced grill-sizzled onions, perfectly melted cheese, pickles, crisp shredded lettuce and more Big Mac® sauce all sandwiched between a soft, pillowy sesame seed bun.
If you’ve always been a hater of the middle bun on burgers, I think McDonald’s has done enough on this sandwich to warrant exactly why you need it.
It’s a line of defense that without it, this thing would utterly collapse. All that meat, all that sauce? The middle bun is a war hero.
We absolutely loved this sandwich. Watch our full YouTube food review above and see the reactions live. This $6.69 sandwich had a great build. “This is a lot of food,” said Corey.
